Supporting Local Producers

As a social enterprise, we’re passionate about supporting local farmers, makers, and food producers. Our shelves feature quality products from friends and neighbours including Ardagh Apiaries honey, Guiry’s eggs, Ballygoats Cheese, Ballyhoura Apple Farm juices, Athea Pudding, and Quaid Candles.

Good food grown and made close to home

We love discovering new local flavours — if you’re a producer interested in working with us, we’d be delighted to chat.

From Our Garden to Your Table

Our shop also stocks seasonal vegetables grown in the Kilmeedy Homegrown community garden, along with produce from other nearby suppliers.

Seasonal, sustainable, and straight from Kilmeedy

Every purchase supports local growers, sustains community enterprise, and helps keep Kilmeedy Homegrown thriving for seasons to come.

Kilmeedy Homegrown

Seasonal vegetables from our own Kilmeedy Homegrown community garden are proudly sold in the Roots Shop. Alongside the fresh produce, fruit and berries from the garden are lovingly crafted into homemade jams, compotes, and chutneys — all available in our Farm Shop.

From training project to thriving local initiative

The Community Garden was established in 2009 as part of a Local Training Initiative Horticulture Course. When students began producing more vegetables than they could use, they decided to share the harvest with the wider community — and Kilmeedy Homegrown was born.
